Peter Ruggeri

Peter Ruggeri, Principal of Peter Ruggeri Lawyers, brings over 40 years’ experience to his legal practice, having led the firm for more than three decades. A graduate of the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws, Peter commenced his legal career in 1983. Early on, he gained valuable experience as a corporate lawyer with Thorn EMI Electronics, where he practised for over five years before founding his own firm. Peter offers personalised legal support across a broad range of matters. He has extensive experience appearing in the New South Wales Supreme, District and Compensation Courts, particularly in cases involving motor vehicle, workplace, and public liability accidents—areas where strict time limits apply. His expertise encompasses estate and probate law, including obtaining probate and administering wills and estates, acting as an appointed executor when needed, and managing estate assets such as property, shares and financial investments. Peter also assists with the administration of estates where no will exists, as well as providing advice when challenging wills on behalf of potential beneficiaries. In property law, Peter advises on sales, contract preparation, purchases, transfers, commercial leases and related disputes. He regularly undertakes litigation matters including large debt recovery cases, court appearances for drink driving and traffic offences, and defending against Apprehended Violence Orders. Peter is also experienced in preparing family and individual wills, with a commitment to attending elderly or ill clients in their homes or nursing facilities where required. He provides guidance on powers of attorney, and assists with legal matters concerning de facto relationships, including property, wills, estates and prenuptial agreements.
