Peter Vogel

Peter Vogel is the principal of his own incorporated legal practice, Peter Vogel Legal, where he combines his extensive background in technology and electronics with his legal expertise. Peter's journey began with a passion for invention, leading him to create the world’s first commercial sound sampling electronic musical instrument, the Fairlight CMI, which revolutionised the music industry. His numerous inventions span consumer and industrial devices, including the widely used Vitalcall personal medical emergency alarm. Peter's career in technology exposed him to significant legal challenges, such as successfully defending IceTV against copyright allegations by the Nine Network in a landmark case that reached the High Court of Australia. This experience, coupled with further legal disputes, inspired Peter to study law, culminating in his admission to practise in all Australian courts. Beyond law, Peter is deeply involved in innovative projects aimed at enhancing independent living for the elderly and promoting renewable energy. His creative ventures include co-founding Echidna Energy and developing advanced baby monitoring technology. Committed to social and environmental causes, Peter has contributed to efforts that led to the banning of cigarette advertising in Australia and helped establish Life Education, an initiative focused on health and drug education for children. Residing in the Blue Mountains with his family, Peter continues to merge his technical knowledge with legal practice, offering unique insights and solutions to his clients' challenges.
