Trent Petherick

Trent Petherick brings over 20 years of experience in litigation, having previously been a Partner at a prominent New Zealand law firm before relocating to Western Australia in 2011. Upon arrival, he joined one of Perth’s leading law firms as a senior associate, further honing his expertise. In 2012, Trent co-founded Petherick Cottrell Lawyers with Rex Cottrell, with the goal of providing high-quality legal services tailored to the residents of Mandurah and surrounding areas. Trent’s practice covers criminal law, employment and workplace health and safety law, as well as civil and commercial matters. Known for his tenacious and practical approach, Trent is committed to achieving favourable outcomes efficiently, avoiding unnecessary expense or delay for his clients. He has gained recognition within the region as an effective litigator, regularly defending serious criminal cases in the District and Supreme Courts. Trent also holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Business Studies, complemented by a Master of Laws with Honours from the University of Melbourne, reflecting his dedication to continuous legal development.
