Michael Bishop

Michael, a distinguished alumnus of Melbourne University, graduated in 1997 with Honours degrees in both Law and Commerce. Since joining Pointon Partners upon graduation, he has made significant strides in his legal career, ascending to the role of partner in 2005. Today, Michael plays an instrumental role at Pointon Partners, leading the firm’s Employment Law practice and co-leading its Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) practice. His approach to law is renowned for its efficiency and practicality, consistently delivering tailored solutions to meet his clients' needs. Over his years of practice, Michael has amassed extensive expertise across a diverse range of legal domains. His proficiency encompasses Employment Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Initial Public Offerings, and Commercial Law. Additionally, he is adept in areas such as Capital Raisings, Corporations Law advice, and the preparation and review of Commercial and Shareholder Agreements. Michael also offers guidance in Sports Law, Commercial Leasing, the establishment of not for profit entities, and Estate Planning. Beyond the legal arena, Michael is an avid athlete with a passion for running. He actively competes for the Mornington Peninsula Athletics Club, where he previously served as president and remains a committed committee member. His dedication extends to the Eyes for Africa Charitable Foundation, where he has been a committee member for over a decade and currently serves as Secretary.
