Lauren Sullivan

Lauren Sullivan was admitted to practice law in 2011 and has been a partner at Rennick & Gaynor since April 2018. She advises and represents both private clients and corporations on a broad range of property, commercial and leasing matters. Lauren has developed significant experience in compulsory acquisition, assisting landowners whose property has been resumed by government or statutory authorities. She advises on claims for compensation under the Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986 and the Planning and Environment Act 1987, effectively negotiating settlements or pursuing litigation when necessary. Her expertise has been pivotal in shaping new approaches to compulsory acquisition law, particularly following key cases such as Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change v Megson [2019] VSCA 19, Capela v Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change [2018] VSC 360 and Plunkett v Roads Corporation [2019] VSC 39. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Law and is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and the Victorian Planning & Environmental Law Association.
