Ben Ricketts

Ben Ricketts is the Principal of Ricketts & Associates, based in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales. His legal journey began in rural NSW and took him to Griffith University in Brisbane, where he earned dual degrees in Law and Environmental Science. He honed his expertise over 14 years at HopgoodGanim Lawyers in Brisbane, focusing on Commercial Dispute Resolution and Litigation. Ben adeptly managed commercial disputes for high net worth clients in sectors including mining, gas, retail, major shopping centres, and construction, regularly engaging in matters before the District and Supreme Courts of Queensland and sometimes the Federal Court. In 2017, he completed an MBA at the University of Queensland, which propelled him to a role as Senior In-House Counsel at JJ Richards & Sons, one of Australia's largest companies in the waste and recycling sector. His leadership extended to community involvement, serving as Director at Aunties and Uncles Queensland. Prior to establishing his firm, Ben's experience also included positions with RUSSELLS Lawyers and earlier roles such as a planning and environment law research assistant.
