Richard O'Halloran

Richard O'Halloran, a dedicated legal professional at R.J. O’Halloran & Co, represents the fourth generation of his family in law. Admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2014, Richard completed a Bachelor of Business and Law at the University of New England, followed by a Graduate Diploma of Law in Sydney. His educational journey continued with a Master of Law, focusing on Wills and Estates, completed through The College of Law Australia. Richard’s practice is primarily centred on property law, commercial law, and estate matters. He has a strong track record in running criminal hearings in both Local and District Courts, alongside handling employment hearings within the Fair Work Commission and the Industrial Relations Commission. His commitment to client service sees him regularly travelling to rural areas such as Moree, Narrabri, and Quirindi to address issues like water licenses and conveyancing. During a two-year stint in England, Richard worked at the esteemed London City firm Winkworth Sherwood, while also playing Premier Grade cricket. Upon his return to Australia in 2017, he resumed his role in the family firm, bringing with him enhanced insights and overseas experience. Richard is also an active speaker at local events and online platforms, focusing on succession and commercial law. Throughout his career, he has maintained involvement in family law, supporting clients with his extensive legal expertise. Aside from his legal practice, Richard has contributed to the field as a legal tutor at the University of New England and mentors Indigenous law students, reflecting his commitment to education and community. His passion for both law and community engagement underpins his esteemed reputation in the legal field.
