Chris Sheppard

Chris Sheppard is a partner at RMB Lawyers, having joined the firm in January 2000. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Industrial Relations) from the University of Wollongong. Accredited by the Law Society of NSW as a Specialist in Personal Injury Law since 2008, Chris plays a pivotal role in the firm's injury compensation practice. His expertise encompasses a wide range of claims, such as accidents at work, medical negligence, motor vehicle accidents, and exposure to asbestos. He also advocates for victims of institutional abuse and those injured in public spaces. In addition to his personal injury practice, Chris possesses substantial experience in workplace and employment law. He represents both employers and employees in strategic planning, contract management, and advising on termination issues. Chris navigates clients through unfair termination disputes, anti-bullying applications, and contract litigation, whilst providing guidance under the Fair Work Act. A Wollongong native, Chris's local roots are reflected in his comprehensive understanding of community needs. He excelled academically at Keira High School and leveraged his strong community ties and academic success to establish a distinguished legal career. Chris became a partner in 2005, demonstrating his commitment and leadership within the firm. Chris’s personal life is deeply intertwined with the Wollongong community. His achievements in sports, including state representation in cricket and football, highlight his active involvement with local sports clubs. As a director of the Wollongong Wolves Football Club, Chris was instrumental in their successful bid for an A-League licence and their 2019 championship achievements.
