About Alastair
Alastair Tiddy, Principal at Rockdene Lawyers, brings over 30 years of corporate experience, providing strategic and legal advice to high-level teams in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, major contracts and outsourcing, competition law, and Federal Court litigation. Transitioning from the corporate world to private practice allowed Alastair to pursue his passion for the law. He has a deep commitment to human rights, demonstrated through his volunteer work as a solicitor at a Community Legal Centre in Darlinghurst, where he provided free legal advice to the homeless and disadvantaged, as well as his involvement with human rights groups during Apartheid-era South Africa. This dedication to service permeates Rockdene Lawyers, where team members often engage in low-fee and pro bono work in selected matters. Alastair's corporate background enables him to effectively guide clients through capital raising, business acquisitions, shareholder agreements, employment law, and corporate compliance. He also leads the Family Law practice, adeptly representing clients in the Family Court and facilitating property settlements through mediation and consent. With qualifications including a Master of Laws, Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Economics, Finance, and Law, and a Diploma in Theology, Alastair combines his extensive knowledge with a practical approach. Originally from Zimbabwe, he served as a pilot with the Royal Rhodesian Air Force before working for international shipping companies. Outside of work, Alastair enjoys woodworking, kayaking, and engaging with his local church community.
