Dean Tolkin

Dean graduated with distinction from the University of Technology, Sydney in 2013, where he completed a combined Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Laws degree. During his studies, he focused on employment law, insolvency, family law, and alternative dispute resolution, which laid a robust foundation for his legal career. Following his time with a major national employment relations firm, Dean brought his significant expertise to Sasphire Legal as an Associate Director in November 2015. He also extends his services as a consultant with Keypoint Law and has provided consultancy assistance to various other firms, particularly in employment, workplace relations, and work health and safety sectors. Dean's practice spans all areas of the firm's offerings, and he has acquired substantial experience handling intricate matters within the employment and industrial relations fields. His work includes drafting contracts, enterprise agreements, and workplace policies, advising on restraints of trade issues, and managing union disputes and work health and safety compliance. Dean also conducts employment due diligence during business transfers, ensures award interpretation and compliance, and defends Fair Work Ombudsman prosecutions. His expertise covers structuring executive remuneration, performance management, redundancy and change management, corporate governance, handling sensitive terminations, promoting equal opportunity employment, and managing unfair dismissals and general protections.
