Claire Richards

Claire Richards holds a Bachelor of Laws and has been a practicing solicitor since her admission to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in May 2020. As a member of both the Law Society of NSW and the Northern Beaches Solicitors Association, Claire brings a strong commitment to the legal profession and her local community. Her legal career began in 2010, initially in administrative roles including receptionist and paralegal, progressing to practice manager at a Northern Beaches firm. Claire joined Shipton & Associates in 2017, where she further developed her legal expertise across various areas including criminal law, family law, wills and estates, conveyancing, property law, commercial matters and civil litigation. Claire is recognised for her excellent client rapport, combining empathy with a meticulous eye for detail and clear communication. She values open dialogue and strives to ensure clients feel informed and comfortable throughout their legal matters, fostering ongoing relationships grounded in trust and transparency. Outside of her legal career, Claire is passionate about animals and shares her life with Morty, her beloved ‘Puggle’ puppy. An avid netball player, she brings the same dedication and competitive spirit to the court, playing regularly in both indoor and outdoor leagues on the Northern Beaches.
