Michael Shipton

Michael Shipton is a highly experienced legal consultant with a distinguished career spanning more than four decades. Admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and High Court of Australia in 1978, Michael’s extensive background encompasses family law, wills and estates, conveyancing, commercial and property law, including leasing, as well as criminal law. His broad expertise enables him to provide well-rounded legal advice tailored to the varied needs of his clients. After leading a successful local firm, Michael established Shipton & Associates in 1996. Beginning his practice from his home in Balgowlah, he cultivated a trusted and skilled legal team committed to serving the Northern Beaches community. In 2017, Michael entrusted the firm’s leadership to Claire Nielsen, a longstanding colleague and friend, ensuring the continuation of the practice’s dedication to client service and legal excellence. Michael has a rich history of courtroom experience in a range of jurisdictions, including the Federal and Family Courts of Australia, the Supreme Court of New South Wales, District Court, and Manly Local Court.
