Sarah Burke is the Principal Lawyer and Director at SLB Legal, a distinguished commercial law practice based in Melbourne. Before establishing SLB Legal, Sarah garnered extensive experience as Legal Counsel at Telstra. During her tenure, she specialised in providing comprehensive legal support across a spectrum of areas including contract management for government, enterprises, and consumers, product launches and exits, marketing and regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, and developing legal templates and resources. Her role also included training and mentoring, highlighting her commitment to fostering legal expertise within her team.
Sarah's legal journey began at Maddocks, where she completed her practical legal training and joined the Commercial practice group. There, she represented diverse clients, handling matters related to commercial goods and service supply, IT contracting, government procurement, and insolvency litigation. Her role expanded with a secondment as an In-house Legal Counsel, further honing her skills in corporate governance and procurement.
Her academic credentials include a Master of Law (Juris Doctor) from Monash University, complemented by a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from The College of Law Australia, a Bachelor in Journalism from La Trobe University, and legal practice management training from Leo Cussen Centre for Law. Sarah's comprehensive education and extensive experience underpin her reputation as a trusted advisor in the legal field.
