He was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2001 and added to the High Court of Australia register in 2018. He then ventured into property development, later finding success in the hospitality industry with his own motel and coach tour operation, which he managed for 15 years before selling. In 2016, Troy discovered his passion for criminal law and advocacy. His dedication to fairness and justice quickly made him a standout in this field. Troy has substantial experience in complex criminal and quasi-criminal law cases, having successfully represented clients in numerous trials and appeals, including landmark victories in the Queensland Court of Appeal. His reputation as a formidable and steadfast advocate is well-earned, consistently achieving excellent outcomes for his clients. With roots in Lismore, Troy now resides on the Gold Coast with his family. Outside the courtroom, he enjoys motorsports and other sports activities. Throughout his career, Troy has worked as a Principal at Smith Cambridge Lawyers and previously as a Senior Associate at TWC Lawyers and Moloney MacCallum Abdelshahied Lawyers, honing his skills and expertise in criminal defence.
