Fiona Yiend

Fiona Yiend serves as the Managing Director of our Commercial Legal team, bringing with her a wealth of experience in contracts, construction, engineering, and infrastructure projects. Her extensive background as a General Counsel enables her to guide both clients and her team towards achieving their goals with a practical and efficient approach. Fiona's expertise is particularly deep in the engineering, construction, infrastructure, and mining services industries. Her unique combination of skills in construction, major projects, corporate law, and dispute resolution positions her to provide comprehensive advice across various business aspects. Fiona is passionate about collaborating with clients to ensure their success, believing in the true value of law as a means to facilitate effective business engagements. She takes great satisfaction in seeing a well-negotiated contract through to successful delivery, feeling personally invested in the project's completion. Recognised in 2022 on the Elite Women list by Australasian Lawyer, Fiona's contributions to the legal field have been widely acknowledged. Before joining Source, she held roles as General Counsel and Company Secretary for several ASX-listed companies in the building and engineering sectors and has an extensive background in litigation and corporate law from her decade in private practice. Fiona holds a Bachelor of Laws with Second Class Honours, a Bachelor of Arts, a Graduate Diploma of International Law, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment, and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance. Outside of her professional life, Fiona enjoys spending time with her family, playing soccer, reading, and relaxing at the beach.
