

Ben Carroll is the Director of S+P Walters, bringing extensive experience in the legal field since beginning his career with Stone & Partners in 1998. Initially joining as a law clerk while completing his studies at Southern Cross University, Ben rapidly ascended the ranks to become a solicitor in 1998 and a partner by 2003. As a highly regarded commercial lawyer, Ben specialises in complex commercial agreements, business structures, leasing, conveyancing, business sales and purchases, and commercial litigation. His expertise extends to wills and estates administration and litigation. Throughout his career, Ben has advised regional financial institutions on securitisation of loans and has been instrumental in preparing loan securities. His capability in drafting complex commercial agreements is well-recognised and includes crafting constitutions, partnership and shareholder agreements, and various contractual documents. With a keen interest in estate planning, he frequently employs testamentary trust wills to cater to client needs. Ben's litigation experience is profound, having engaged in complex cases before the Supreme Court. He frequently deals with contract disputes, shareholder disputes, and disputed estates. Known for his pragmatic approach, Ben values cost-effective solutions and is adept in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration. When necessary, he effectively leads trial litigation alongside top barristers. Residing in Lismore with his family, Ben is deeply involved in his community. He supports the NSW Cancer Council through pro-bono estate planning for cancer patients and serves as Deputy Chair for Our House, aiding hospital patients and their carers with accommodation. His past leadership roles include presidency of the Goonellabah Preschool and the Lismore Workers Rugby League Club. Ben holds degrees in Environmental Science and Law, a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, and a Foundation Tax certificate from the Taxation Institute of Australia.
