Kirsty Walker's journey into the legal profession is both unique and inspiring, marked by a rich and diverse background. Having devoted 24 years to teaching as a senior educator, her career took a pivotal turn driven by her experiences in managing a small construction company. It was during this time that she recognised the power of the law in resolving disputes, particularly in complex creditor-debtor situations. Her passion for advocacy led her to transition from the classroom to the courtroom, where she now practises as a solicitor admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. Kirsty's formal legal education is impressive, with a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, complemented by a Bachelor of Criminology and Justice. Her academic accomplishments are further enriched by a Bachelor of Education and a Certificate IV in Small Business Management. Her multifaceted expertise spans building and construction, civil litigation, commercial litigation, insolvency law, and tax debt disputes, areas that dovetail seamlessly with her previous experiences. In her professional journey, Kirsty has also contributed to broader community initiatives. She is the co-founder of Inhale X, a corporate wellness company, and The Lighthouse Hub on the Sunshine Coast, a charitable organisation aimed at enhancing safety technology and advocacy for victims of domestic and family violence. Her earlier teaching career included various leadership roles, where she championed mental health and wellbeing in educational settings. Kirsty's dynamic career path reflects a deep commitment to justice and community service, underpinned by a quote she holds dear: Always pray to have eyes that see the best, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith.
