Matthew's proficiency in corporate insolvency is evident through his adept management of intricate voluntary administrations, liquidations, and business restructures. His strategic involvement in these processes has helped numerous businesses streamline operations and manage liabilities, setting the stage for future success. With over a decade of experience at SV Partners, Matthew has held various pivotal roles, including Associate Director and Senior Manager, where he has excelled in voidable recovery actions under insolvency and bankruptcy regimes. His leadership extends to handling preferential payment recoveries, insolvent trading claims, and the preparation of expert insolvency reports. Matthew also serves as Chairperson of the ARITA Young Professionals Committee in Queensland, orchestrating events that blend technical and soft skill education with networking opportunities. His commitment to the field is further demonstrated by his role as an Official Mentor with WIRQ, where he supports Women in Insolvency and Restructuring Queensland. Before qualifying as a lawyer, Matthew gained invaluable experience at Clayton Utz, focusing on mergers and acquisitions. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Commerce from Bond University, alongside completing an ARITA Advanced Certification in Insolvency Law and Accounting from the University of Technology Sydney.
