Cedwynn Toweel

Cedwynn Toweel brings a wealth of legal experience to de Korte Lawyers, where he leads all litigation activities. His legal journey began with studies in Law at the Universities of Pretoria and South Africa, culminating in an esteemed career that includes substantial military and prosecutorial roles. Cedwynn served as a Military Law Advisor in the South African Air Force, where he achieved the rank of Major, and subsequently worked as a Crown Prosecutor within the Department of Justice. In 1986, Cedwynn commenced his practice as an Advocate at the Pretoria Bar, dedicating 17 years to honing his skills in both civil and criminal litigation. His international legal credentials were further augmented upon migrating to Queensland in 2003. After completing requisite conversion courses at Griffith University and the Bar Practice Course, he became admitted as a Barrister-at-Law in Brisbane. During his tenure as a member of the Bar Association of Queensland, which spanned nearly a decade, Cedwynn developed extensive expertise in litigation. In 2012, he brought this breadth of experience to de Korte Lawyers, enhancing the firm's litigation capabilities. Additionally, in 2006, Cedwynn founded Australian Migration and Visa Agents Pty Ltd, where he has served as a director and a Registered Migration Agent, advising clients on migration pathways alongside his colleague Hendrik. Cedwynn and his family have embraced their new homeland as Australian citizens, further solidifying his commitment to his practice and his clients in Australia.
