Andrew Tehan

Andrew Tehan serves as the Principal and Barrister & Solicitor at Tehan Legal, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to his practice. Commencing his journey in law while completing a Bachelor of Laws with first class honours at Victoria University, Andrew actively engaged with the North Melbourne Community Legal Centre. There, he provided assistance on a variety of legal matters, supporting some of the most disadvantaged segments of society. Following his admission to practice, Andrew ventured from Melbourne to Western Australia to join the Aboriginal Legal Service (ALSWA) as a solicitor advocate. During his tenure at ALSWA, he travelled extensively across remote communities and gained significant courtroom experience, appearing in the Childrens Court, Magistrates Court, District Court, and Supreme Court jurisdictions. After four years with ALSWA, he returned to Melbourne, joining Tony Hargreaves and Partners, where he honed his skills in managing complex white-collar fraud and homicide cases, alongside general litigation for both individuals and corporate clients. Andrew's professional journey led him back to Perth as the managing lawyer of the Criminal Law division at Slater and Gordon. In 2018, he established Tehan Legal with a focus on providing expert legal representation in criminal law. As the founder and principal, Andrew primarily acts as a jury trial advocate and oversees a collaborative team handling criminal law, traffic law, restraining orders, and regulatory law matters. His comprehensive career reflects a commitment to delivering strategic legal solutions and advocacy.
