Admitted as a Solicitor in 1998, she quickly established herself as a leader in her field, becoming a Qld Law Society Accredited Family Law Specialist in 2003. Her qualifications as a Qld Law Society Mediator and an Independent Children’s Lawyer further solidify her commitment to family law. Leisa’s professional affiliations include the Queensland Law Society, Sunshine Coast Law Association, and the Family Law Practitioners Association of Queensland. As a partner at Schultz Toomey O’Brien Lawyers from 2000 to 2014, Leisa was instrumental in leading the Qld Family Law Department, a role she retained after the firm’s acquisition by Slater & Gordon. Following a brief hiatus beginning in 2016, her passion for family law brought her back to the practice when she founded Toomey Family Law in February 2020.
