Peter Kane serves as the Director, bringing a rich and diverse background as both a solicitor and chartered accountant. His extensive expertise as a tax consultant allows him to deliver comprehensive advice and manage the necessary documentation to support his guidance. Peter began his career with Deloitte in Brisbane, balancing his pursuit of law and postgraduate studies in accountancy. This dual path led to his admission as both a chartered accountant and a solicitor, credentials he continues to uphold. His professional journey includes a significant tenure in Hong Kong with PwC, alongside an academic role where he lectured in taxation and company law at QUT, enhancing his knowledge and ability to navigate complex legal landscapes. With over two decades of experience at Tax Strategies, Peter has honed his skills in advising clients on taxation and corporate legal matters. His educational background is robust, including a Bachelor of Business with a focus on Accountancy and a Bachelor of Laws from QUT. He furthered his education with a Master of Taxation from UNSW and a Master of Laws from UQ, where he earned a Dean's Honour Roll Award for outstanding academic performance. Peter's areas of expertise encompass a wide array of taxation, corporate, and commercial laws. He is a Chartered Tax Adviser at The Tax Institute, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland, a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. His interests lie particularly in taxation law for SMEs and high-wealth families, the law of trusts, and self-managed super funds.
