

Nicholas Vadasz LLB, a seasoned barrister and solicitor, graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1974. Commencing his legal career with Aboriginal Legal Rights in 1975, he has built a formidable reputation in the South Australian criminal law arena. Over the years, Nicholas has provided defence in over 80 murder cases, many of which culminated in the prosecution withdrawing charges or accepting pleas to lesser offences. His experience includes conducting numerous murder trials and successfully representing clients on appeals against murder convictions. Notably, he was part of the defence team during the high-profile Snowtown Murders trial. Nicholas also handles a wide array of drug-related cases, including significant trafficking and importation matters involving large quantities of substances like heroin and amphetamines. In addition to his expertise in murder and drug cases, Nicholas adeptly manages complex dishonesty matters, with allegations involving multi-million dollar frauds. He regularly appears in the Supreme Court, District Court, and Adelaide Magistrates Court, and has conducted appeals in the High Court of Australia. Nicholas is a proactive member of the legal community, serving on the Law Society Criminal Law Advisory Committee. His past roles include a remunerated position on the Commonwealth Social Security Appeals Tribunal and participation in the South Australian Drug Assessment and Aid Panel.
