Stephen Todd

Stephen Todd is the Principal of Vandeleur & Todd, a firm rooted in the North Queensland community with offices in Innisfail, Gordonvale and Cairns. Born and raised in Innisfail within a large cane farming family, Stephen gained early experience through Articles of Clerkship with two regional law firms before returning home to lead Boyett Stubbin and Todd from December 1989. In 1994, Stephen and Vince Vandeleur combined their practices to establish Vandeleur & Todd, maintaining the approach of a traditional country general practice. The firm offers comprehensive legal services across a broad spectrum of matters, tailored to the varied needs of their local and regional clients. Stephen has a broad legal background with extensive experience in commercial and property law, wills and estates, and family law. He has also served as an Independent Children’s Lawyer in parenting matters, reflecting his commitment to assisting families through complex legal issues. Alongside his legal career, Stephen contributed to the agricultural sector as an operator of the family cane farm and as a director of key regional canegrower organisations. Since focusing exclusively on law, he has led the growth of the firm while fostering a collaborative and client-focused team environment. Outside the office, Stephen enjoys golf and is actively involved with both the Innisfail and Babinda Golf Clubs, where he serves on the management committee. His deep ties to the region and diverse experience enable him to provide practical and empathetic legal guidance to his community.
