Trent Wakerley

Trent Wakerley is a dedicated and accomplished legal professional serving as the Director of Wakerley Legal. His journey into law followed a successful career as a Registered Nurse, bringing a unique perspective to his legal practice. Trent began his legal career with Sunshine Coast's largest law firm in 2005 and, after being admitted as a solicitor in 2006, honed his skills in wills and estates, will disputes, elder law, and commercial and property law until 2015. In 2015, Trent joined Kruger Law as a Partner, where he led the wills and estates team and advised clients on Retirement Living, Lifestyle Resorts, and Aged Care. He became the sole Director of Kruger Law, now Wakerley Legal, in 2021. Trent is highly regarded for his empathetic approach, focusing on delivering cost-effective solutions that meet his clients' needs. In recognition of his expertise and dedication, Trent was honoured as the Queensland Solicitor of the Year (Small Firm) in 2024 by the Queensland Law Society. Trent's qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws from Queensland University of Technology, completed in 2005, and his subsequent admission as a Legal Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2006. He remains involved in academia as a member of QUT’s external advisory committee and as a Sessional Lecturer in Elder Law and Succession at the University of the Sunshine Coast. A life member of the Sunshine Coast Law Association, Trent is also active in the Queensland Law Society Elder Law Committee. He frequently presents at community events about Wills, Will Disputes, Estate Planning, and Elder Law, demonstrating his commitment to public education and community involvement. Born and raised on the Sunshine Coast, Trent's local roots and passion for his community shine through in his work.
