About Annabelle

Annabelle Tiare Mastop is a Solicitor at Walkden Law, practising primarily in family law, children's matters, and wills and estate planning. She also assists Principal Solicitor and Independent Children's Lawyer Paul Walkden across his children's matters, bringing a depth of experience that began long before her admission to the bar. Annabelle grew up in the Campbelltown and Mount Druitt areas, and her roots in south-western Sydney inform her genuine understanding of the families and individuals who walk through our doors. She approaches every matter with care, patience, and a clear focus on what matters most to her clients. Before completing her formal legal qualifications, Annabelle joined the Walkden Law team as an experienced Paralegal in family law and children's matters - a foundation that gave her a practical, ground-level perspective on family disputes that many newly admitted solicitors simply do not have. She completed her Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in 2021 and was admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in 2022. Driven by a commitment to deepening her expertise, Annabelle subsequently completed a Master of Law (Applied Law) with a major in Family Dispute Resolution at the College of Law. This postgraduate qualification positions her as a specialist voice within the firm on dispute resolution pathways - an increasingly important consideration as families seek alternatives to contested litigation. Annabelle is now working towards her qualifications as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner and as an Independent Children's Lawyer. Annabelle's caseload reflects the breadth of Walkden Law's family law service: private parenting and property matters, Legal Aid matters, wills and estate planning, and support on Independent Children's Lawyer briefs. Central to everything she does is a belief in the voice of the child - the principle that children's perspectives deserve genuine weight in the decisions that shape their lives. Outside the office, Annabelle enjoys riding her motorcycle and spending time with family.
