Trina Bristow is a Senior Associate at Walker Hedges Forestville, having joined the firm in January 2012. Trina’s expertise encompasses insurance law, contractual disputes and general litigation, dispute resolution, personal property securities and the Personal Property Security Register, building and construction law including related disputes and litigation, commercial law, general property law including dividing fence applications and disputes, intellectual property, employment law, and estate planning matters such as wills, powers of attorney, guardianships, succession, and family provision claims. She is well-versed in all stages of litigation, actively initiating and defending claims on behalf of clients, and regularly appears confidently in various courts and tribunals. Trina’s experience includes managing complex matters involving diverse issues and parties, which is complemented by her ability to navigate both litigated and non-litigated processes efficiently. Before joining Walker Hedges Forestville, Trina gained substantial experience working for an international insurance company. In that role, she managed professional indemnity, public liability, and general insurance claims, including assessing policy coverage and liability, conducting litigation, advising on remedies under the Insurance Contracts Act, and reviewing insurance policies and wordings. She successfully defended claims across Australia and New Zealand and contributed to dispute resolution efforts aimed at achieving timely and cost-effective outcomes for clients and the company. Notably, Trina secured a significant legal victory in Dartberg Pty Ltd v Wealthcare Financial Planning Pty Ltd (No 2) [2009] FCA 1153, where the court found no liability on behalf of her client and awarded costs against the opposing party. Additionally, Trina has advised on employee share plans, option plans, and corporate structures for both private and public companies within the relevant legislative frameworks.
