1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms and Conditions together with any documents that expressly incorporate by reference (collectively, the Terms) govern your access and use of the applications, programs, tools and services offered by LawConnect Pty Ltd ACN 609 467 807 (Law Connect, We, Us, Our) on the website located at https://www.lawconnect.com (together, the platform). You means you individuals as the user of the platform.

The platform is the property of LawConnect and by accessing or using LawConnect, you agree to be bound by the Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms or our Privacy Policy, you must not access or use the platform.

Please read these Terms carefully before you start to use the platform. By using the platform or by clicking to accept or agree to the Terms you expressly acknowledge that you have read and understood all of the Terms and have taken time to consider the consequences and ramifications contained herein.

2. Right to Access

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use LawConnect for your personal or internal business purposes. You acknowledge and agree that any content obtained from your input into the platform must not be referred to as professional legal advice and/or used as a substitute to the advice of a qualified and licensed solicitor in the relevant jurisdiction.

To access the platform and/or some of the resources it offers, you may be asked to provide certain registration details or other information. It is a condition of your use of the platform that all the information you provide to us is correct, current, and complete. You agree that all information you provide to register with and use the platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, and you agree to all actions we take with respect to your information consistent with our Privacy Policy.

If you create, or are provided with, a username (email), password, or any other piece of information as part of our security procedures, you must treat such information as confidential, and you must not disclose it to any other person or entity. You also acknowledge that your account is personal to you and agree not to provide any other person with access to the platform or portions of it using your username (email), password, or other security information.

You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to or use of your username (email) or password or any other breach of security. You also agree to ensure that you exit/logoff from the platform at the end of each session. You should use particular caution when accessing the platform from a public or shared computer so that others are not able to view or record your password or other personal information.

We have the right to disable any username (email), password, or other identifier, whether chosen by you or provided by us, at any time in our sole discretion for any or no reason, including if, in our opinion, you have violated any provision of these Terms.

You agree not to engage in any conduct that violates these Terms or any applicable laws or regulations.

3. Use of the Service

We reserve the right to charge fees or costs for your use of the platform and where applicable, you will be informed and required to agree to such fees or costs before you can access the platform. You acknowledge and agree to pay all fees or costs associated with your use of the platform.

4. Fees and Payment

LawConnect claims no intellectual property rights in any user input that you provide to the platform or any output generated. LawConnect also does not review such inputs or outputs, including text, logos, names or slogans, for accuracy, bias or intellectual property rights clearance.

You are solely responsible to ensure that you have all rights necessary (including trademark, copyright and other intellectual property rights) to provide your inputs to the platform.

LawConnect makes no representation, warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy or reliability of the platform or whether such output may infringe on third-party intellectual property rights. You should review the output accordingly and your use thereof is at your sole risk.

LawConnect reserves the right to terminate or modify the platform, and any services, data or material we provide on the platform, in our sole discretion without notice. We will not be liable if for any reason all or any part of the platform is unavailable at any time or for any period. From time to time, we may restrict access to some or all of the platform.

5. Intellectual Property

Our collection and use of personal information are governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to our collection and use of personal information as outlined in the Privacy Policy.

6. Privacy

You acknowledge and agree that your use of the platform shall be at your own risk and that the platform is provided on an “as is”, and “as available” basis.

You represent, warrant, and agree that:

• you will not use, nor permit any other person to use on your behalf, the platform in violation of these Terms;
• your use of the platform, including any content you submit, will comply with these Terms and all applicable local, state, national and international laws, rules and regulations;
• you will not collect or harvest (or permit anyone else to collect or harvest) any content or any non-public or personally identifiable information about any other person or entity without their express prior written consent;
• you will not use, nor authorize anyone to use on your behalf, the platform in a manner (as determined by LawConnect in its absolute discretion, including, without limitation creating or generating content) that is: (1) illegal, or promotes or encourages illegal activity; (2) promotes, encourages, or engages in the exploitation of children, or any activity related to the proliferation of child sexual abuse material; (3) promotes, encourages or engages in terrorism, terrorism-financing, money-laundering, violence against people, animals, or property; (4) promotes, encourages or engages in any spam or other unsolicited bulk email, or computer or network hacking or cracking; (5) promotes or facilitates prostitution and/or sex trafficking; (6) infringes on the intellectual property rights of any other person or entity; (7) violates the privacy or publicity rights of any other person or entity, or breaches any duty of confidentiality that you owe to any other person or entity; (8) interferes with the operation of any other services provided by us; (9) contains or installs any viruses, worms, bugs, Trojan horses or other code, files or programs designed to, or capable of, disrupting, damaging or limiting the functionality of any software or hardware; (10) contains false or deceptive language, or unsubstantiated or comparative claims, regarding our services;
• you will not perform any false, abusive or fraudulent activity;
• you will not perform any action that imposes, or may impose, in our discretion, an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure;
• you will not modify or alter any part of the platform or copy or distribute in any medium any part of the platform (except where expressly authorized by us);
• you will not re-sell or provide the platform for a commercial purpose, including any of our related technologies (without our express prior written consent); and
• you will not circumvent, disable or otherwise interfere with the security-related features of the platform (including without limitation those features that prevent or restrict use or copying of any content or enforce limitations on the use of the platform).

You agree to back-up all of your content generated from the platform so that you can access and use it when needed. LawConnect does not warrant that it backs-up any content, and you agree to accept as a risk the loss of any and all of your content.

You agree to provide government-issued photo identification and/or government-issued business identification as required for verification of identity if requested.

Without limiting any of the rights set forth elsewhere in these Terms, we expressly reserve the right to deny, cancel, terminate, suspend, or limit future access to the platform, whether due to breach of these Terms or our Privacy Policy, or who otherwise engages or has engaged in inappropriate or unlawful activity while utilizing the platform (as determined by LawConnect in its absolute discretion).

If your account activity or use of the platform shows signs of fraud, abuse or suspicious activity, we may cancel any service associated with your name, email address or account and close your account. If LawConnect, in its sole discretion, determines that any conducted activity is fraudulent, we reserve the right to take any necessary legal action and you may be liable for monetary losses to LawConnect including legal costs and damages.

7. Sharing of personal information

By using the platform, you acknowledge and agree that if you choose to connect with a lawyer to request professional assistance, any content you input into the platform may be reviewed by a lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction to review your request. Initially, your content is forwarded in an anonymised format to protect your personal information. If the lawyer confirms your request, we will share your personal information (such as your name and contact details) and the full, non-anonymised content you input into the platform with them.

By choosing to connect with a lawyer, you acknowledge and agree that you are providing your full and informed consent to the disclosure of your personal information. However, if you do not agree and instead wish to opt out of this process, please contact us before using the platform at info@lawconnect.com

8. User Responsibilities

By providing your mobile number and agreeing to these Terms, you consent to receive SMS (text message) communications from LawConnect and lawyers you connect with through the platform. These messages may include verification codes, notifications about lawyer outreach, and messages related to your legal matters. Standard message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of receiving non-essential SMS communications at any time by updating your preferences in your account area on LawConnect.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

LawConnect, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and all third party service providers disclaim all warranties, statutory, express or implied, including, but not limited to, any implied warranties of title, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. LawConnect, its officers, directors, employees, and agents make no representations or warranties about (i) the accuracy, completeness, or content produced as outputs on the platform, (ii) the accuracy, completeness, or content of any sites linked (through hyperlinks, banner advertising or otherwise) to the platform, (iii) and/or (iv) any action or failure to act by LawConnect consistent with these Terms, and LawConnect assumes no liability or responsibility for the same.

You acknowledge and agree that auto-generated outputs including but not limited to text, recommendations, advice, logos, names, slogans, etc. have not been reviewed for legal accuracy, bias, explainability or intellectual property clearance and does not constitute legal advice.

LawConnect makes no representation, warranty or guarantee as to the legal accuracy, reliability or error-free performance of content produced on the platform including (without limitation) whether outputs are correct, or whether outputs may infringe, misappropriate or violate any third-party intellectual property rights. You should seek independent professional legal advice from a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction before you rely on any auto-generate output.

You agree that you will seek independent professional legal review and assessment by a qualified legal professional in the jurisdiction in which you are located before you rely on any output generated by the platform and before you use any output in connection with any legal advice you provide to other persons.

Your identity and contact details will only be shared with a lawyer once you request a quote and the lawyer agrees to contact you.

You acknowledge and agree that no oral or written information or advice provided by LawConnect, its officers, directors, employees, or agents (including without limitation its helpdesk or sales or customer service representatives), and third party service providers will (i) constitute legal or financial advice or (ii) create a warranty of any kind with respect to the platform, and you should not rely on any such information or advice.

You acknowledge and agree that no oral or written information or advice provided by LawConnect, its officers, directors, employees, or agents (including without limitation its helpdesk or sales or customer service representatives), and third party service providers will (i) constitute legal or financial advice or (ii) create a warranty of any kind with respect to the platform, and you should not rely on any such information or advice.

The above disclaimer of representations and warranties shall apply to the fullest extent permitted by law, and shall survive any termination or expiration of these Terms or your use of the platform.

LawConnect makes no representation or warranty that the content available via the platform are appropriate in every country or jurisdiction, and access to the platform from countries or jurisdictions where its content is illegal is prohibited. If you choose to access the platform you are responsible for compliance with all local laws, rules and regulations.

10. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall LawConnect, its officers, directors, employees, agents, or any third-party service providers, be liable to you or any other person or entity for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages whatsoever, including any that may result from any outputs created using the platform.

You acknowledge and agree that in no event shall LawConnect's total aggregate liability exceed any payments you made to LawConnect for platform and any other services in the 24 months prior.

The foregoing limitation of liability shall apply to the fullest extent permitted by law and shall survive any termination or expiration of these Terms or your use of the platform.

11. Indemnification

You agree to protect, defend, indemnify and hold harmless LawConnect and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and third party service providers from and against any and all claims, demands, costs, expenses, losses, liabilities and damages of every kind and nature (including, without limitation, reasonable legal fees imposed upon or incurred by LawConnect directly or indirectly arising from: (i) your use of and access to the platform or any other services found on the platform; (ii) your violation of any provision of these Terms or the policies or agreements which are incorporated herein; and/or (iii) your violation of any third-party right, including without limitation any intellectual property or other proprietary right.

The indemnification obligations under this section shall survive any termination or expiration of these Terms or your use of the platform or any other services found on the platform.

12. Governing Law

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page. We reserve the right to update or change these Terms including any costs, fees or payment terms on the Site, from time to time without notice to you. All changes are effective immediately when we post them.

It is your responsibility to check these Terms and the Site regularly for any changes. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of any changes or revised Terms constitutes your acceptance to any amendments or changes.
