Paul McWilliams

Paul McWilliams is the Managing Partner with more than 20 years’ experience as a lawyer, having worked with leading national, international and boutique law firms. His career includes roles as a solicitor at a prominent Australian national firm, where he practised commercial, finance and property law, and as an Associate at the Singapore office of a UK law firm, focusing on syndicated cross-border acquisitions and asset finance. Paul’s practice concentrates on property and commercial law, with a focus on property development, strata titles, property syndication, trusts, contract drafting, finance and securities, conveyancing and leasing. He regularly handles high-value and complex transactions in these areas. He is recognised in the industry, featured in the Doyle’s Guide 2025 as a leading Western Australian property and real estate lawyer, and named in the 2025 Best Lawyers list for Real Property Lawyers in Perth. Recent significant transactions include the sale of major office towers on St Georges Terrace for $64 million and Murray Street for $35 million, and the purchase of a leased CBD office building valued at $24.5 million. Paul has acted for developers acquiring residential estates north and east of Perth valued at $50 million and $30 million respectively, and led negotiations for a development lease with the Department of Regional Development, guiding the project through to completion. In strata and survey-strata developments, Paul has advised on and prepared off-the-plan contracts for sizeable mixed-use and residential projects in Fremantle, Subiaco, Claremont and other suburbs, managing sales for developments comprising up to 75 lots and 70 apartments. His industrial land experience includes advising on purchases valued at $46 million and $86 million, encompassing acquisition structures, funding arrangements, and development management strategies. In the agricultural sector, Paul oversees a portfolio of 40 farm leases in the South West of Western Australia, negotiates leases involving indigenous corporations, and advises on sales of rural industrial land with environmental considerations.
