Mid North Coast Legal Centre, as part of Advocacy Law Alliance Inc., is dedicated to delivering high-quality legal advocacy to individuals in need across regional, rural, and metropolitan NSW communities. Supported by the Community Legal Centres Program and Legal Aid NSW, MNCLC upholds the principles of equity and fairness in its operations. Our commitment to confidentiality and loyalty is paramount, with strict information barriers ensuring client trust. Our mission centres around empowering clients to navigate legal and social systems effectively, fostering fair outcomes through courage, care, creativity, and connection. MNCLC, an independent, not-for-profit entity, provides free legal services such as information, advice, advocacy, and education to empower individuals with knowledge of their rights. We serve diverse areas including MidCoast, Port Macquarie-Hastings, Kempsey Shire, Nambucca Shire, Bellingen Shire, and Coffs Harbour. Established with the support of the Law and Justice Foundation, MNCLC addresses the significant legal support gap identified in a legal needs analysis for the Mid North Coast region, known for its high social disadvantage and geographic isolation. The centre, first announced in 2010 and opened in 2011 following a successful tender by Advocacy Law Alliance, aims to provide greater access to legal assistance, particularly for disadvantaged residents. Recent expansions, following the Cameron Review in 2018, allowed MNCLC to extend its services into Nambucca, Bellingen Shire, and Coffs Harbour, with a new office opening in Coffs Harbour in 2019. In 2021, we celebrated our tenth anniversary by rebranding as Mid North Coast Legal Centre, reinforcing our sustained commitment to the community. Our services cater to general legal advice, domestic and family violence, youth law, elder law, and disability law.
